Lithium is not a drop-in swap
The most common disappointment with lithium upgrades comes from treating them as a straight battery replacement. A converter set up for lead-acid will not charge a LiFePO4 bank to full, alternator charging can be a problem without the right controls, and cable and fusing sized for the old bank is often inadequate for the current lithium can deliver.
Done properly, a lithium bank is a genuine step change — far more usable capacity, faster charging, and a much longer service life. Done as a swap, it is an expensive way to end up with roughly what you had.
Roof penetrations are the part that matters long term
A solar install adds several new holes in a roof that was previously sealed. Those mounts have to be bedded and sealed with the right product for your membrane, and they need to be inspected afterward like any other penetration.
This is where a lot of budget installs cost owners far more than they saved. A leak that starts at a poorly sealed solar mount does exactly the same structural damage as any other roof leak, and it takes just as long to show up inside.
